Driving Question: How can designing and developing a mobile app solve a real-world problem and prepare me for future careers in technology and innovation?

20 Time Project

At the beginning of second semester for 9th grade, Project NEXT gave us a project where we dedicated 20 hours to learning new stuff and making a tangible item with our decision. I landed on creating a messenger app "yapn" where you can text and call your friends. This project worked out pretty nicely.

Why & What Outcomes: I've seen other messaging apps that don't have the features I wanted. My final outcome will be a fully functional app to connect with your friends, call, text, groupchat, whatever you want! There will also be a "Anon" function which is an anonymous way to text in groupchats, there will be partial censors using Artificial Intelligence but only in groupchats. I will not use AI in calls or personal texts.
