In the final few days of March, Project Next teachers assigned us a biology project. Our goal for this project was to research genetics and put ourselves in the shoes of doctors. We had to research our certain patients genes, what would the likely outcome be if they had offspring, and other major factors. At the end of the project we sat down with sophomore students in order to present these in a realistic manor, but we also had to use professional empathy and make sure we followed all HIPAA guidelines during this project. I didn't want to do the project at first because I didn't know my group members or anything about the topic, but I put that aside and worked towards a great final conversation. I learned a lot about my group and how even though I didn't know them at all, they still are living their own lives.
